Elsevier’s Journal of Urology wins ASAE Gold Circle Award
Elsevier has won a 2012 ASAE Gold Circle Award for its publication the Journal of Urology, the official journal of the American Urological Association (AUA).
The company claimed the prize in the peer-reviewed journal category after judges positively evaluated the journal on its clarity, completeness of author guidelines, peer-review process and writing style/quality.
Intended to honour extraordinary communication efforts, the Gold Circle Awards are presented annually by the American Society of Association Executives, which represents more than 21,000 association executives and industry partners across 10,000 organisations.
Glen Campbell, executive vice-president for scientific, technical and medical journals at Elsevier, praised the AUA and the journal's editors, editorial board and publications team for their work.
He added that the award "recognises the journal for accomplishing two critical goals: publishing outstanding research in the specialty of urology while at the same time meeting the clinical and information needs of all AUA members".
Earlier this month, Elsevier was chosen as the new publisher of the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, after agreeing a deal with the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.
