Elsevier to publish American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry
Elsevier has been named as the new publisher of the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry (AJGP), commencing in January 2013.
The publisher has entered into an agreement with the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry following a lengthy review process, with Elsevier chosen on the basis of its industry expertise and global reach.
AJGP is known as an authoritative source in the rapidly developing geriatric psychiatry field, providing peer-reviewed articles on the diagnosis and classification of disorders, epidemiological and biological correlates of mental health, plus data on psychopharmacology and other somatic treatments.
The American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry is also aiming to make the publication more accessible and discoverable using Elsevier's innovative tools.
Editor-in-chief Dilip Jeste said: "We anticipate that AJGP's position as the premier journal devoted specifically to geriatric psychiatry will be strengthened through this new association, benefiting our authors, editors, reviewers and ultimately our readership."
Last month, the company announced the launch of ClinicalKey, a new online clinical information resource featuring data from more than 700 textbooks and 400 medical journals.
