Beiersdorf announces change of CEO

3rd May 2012

Beiersdorf has announced that Stefan Heidenreich has taken over from Thomas Quaas as its chief executive officer (CEO).

Mr Heidenreich – who has been a member of the executive board since January 2012 – assumed the top position at Beiersdorf at its annual general meeting last week, bringing with him more than 25 years of industry experience.

He began his career in the consumer and branded goods sector in 1987 at Procter and Gamble before moving to Reckitt Benckiser in 1992, eventually becoming CEO of Hero Group in 2002.

The new business head joins Beiersdorf following a year in which it significantly streamlined its product portfolio, with the business expected to grow in line with the market this year.

Mr Quaas said: "Our new strategic direction has made the company stronger and more powerful. The generation change at the head of the company is complete. I see the CEO position in good hands."

This comes after the company's vice-president of corporate brands and communications Thomas Schoenen also departed last week, with Petra Rob appointed as an interim replacement.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801356667-ADNFCR
