Simplyhealth completes takeover of Groupama Healthcare
Simplyhealth has announced the completion of its takeover of Groupama Healthcare, becoming the UK's fifth largest private medical insurance provider in the process.
The deal, which was announced in August 2011, has been finalised following High Court approval, with all Groupama Healthcare policies transferring to Simplyhealth last week.
Terms and conditions, benefits and contact details for Groupama Healthcare clients will not change as a result of this takeover, with Simplyhealth seeking to uphold the brand's reputation for strong customer service.
In autumn, the firm also hopes to launch a new private medical insurance product, which will combine elements of Simplyhealth's Preferential service with Groupama's Sante business.
Jamie Wilson, sales and marketing director for Simplyhealth, said: "The purchase, together with our acquisition of Denplan, means we now serve nearly four million people and help 20,000 businesses with their healthcare needs."
Last month, the company was presented with an accolade for customer commitment at the Institute of Customer Service 2012 UK Customer Satisfaction Awards.
