Quintiles has announced the appointment of Tom Pike as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective as of this week.
Mr Pike will deliver more than 30 years of business experience to the biopharmaceutical services provider, having spent 22 years with Accenture in a variety of crucial roles.
He has an established track record of dealing with large clients and helping them navigate rapidly-evolving industry environments, which should prove invaluable when dealing with businesses in the healthcare sector.
Following this appointment, company founder Dennis Gillings will continue in the role of executive chairman of the board of directors.
Mr Gillings said of the new CEO: "I'm confident he will soon make his mark on our company and the industry at large, continuing the Quintiles tradition of entrepreneurial leadership and pioneering growth."
This comes in the same month Quintiles was named best clinical research organisation at the Vaccine Industry Excellence Awards, as well as claiming the title of best social intranet at the Ragan Communication Awards.
