MSD Animal Health launches Activyl in Europe

MSD Animal Health has announced the European launch of the antiparasitic agents Activyl and Activyl Tick Plus.
Activyl is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations in dogs and cats, while the canine-exclusive Activyl Tick Plus controls both fleas and ticks.
Both products have demonstrated their efficacy in clinical trials and have been shown to offer long-lasting protection against the common parasites, as well as being easy to apply and use.
They employ a new mode of action known as bioactivation and are triggered by flea enzymes to produce an insecticidal active metabolite that kills adult and developing stages of fleas.
David Hallas, companion animal franchise leader at MSD Animal Health, said: "Both products will be available strictly through licensed veterinarians, benefiting dogs and cats and their owners by controlling fleas in an innovative way."
Earlier this month, the company published positive data from a new clinical trial of Nobivac Myxo-RHD, a vaccine for myxomatosis and rabbit haemorrhagic disease.
