Quintiles and Archimedes to provide new clinical solutions

Quintiles has announced a new co-promotion agreement with Archimedes pertaining to the co-promotion of clinical and commercial solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry.

This new alliance will see Quintiles incorporate Archimedes' leading ARCHeS Innovator healthcare modelling technology and expertise into its existing product offering, thus helping to improve drug development efficiency.

Through use of the software-as-a-service solution, clients will be able to gain direct access to the Archimedes Model, a full-scale human physiology simulation that allows virtual trials to be carried out.

Wide-ranging benefits can be extracted from the use of this technology in applications such as clinical trial design, product development, commercialisation and patient engagement.

Michael Ackermann, senior vice-president for Quintiles' commercial group, said: "Being able to forecast potential outcomes to interventions brings tremendous value for our biopharma customers, who need to increase productivity, shorten timelines and manage risk."

Earlier this year, Quintiles celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking its progress from a start-up firm in 1982 to one of the largest organisations of its kind in the world.
