Heraeus reports strong trial data for Venus Diamond composite
Heraeus has reported encouraging data from a recent clinical study that demonstrates the practical benefits offered by its Venus Diamond nano-hybrid dental composite.
The product was recently evaluated in an 18-month in vivo clinical study from the Department of Restorative Dentistry of the Dental School at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat in Munich, compared to a number of alternative composites.
It was found that Venus Diamond achieved consistently high marks across all tested categories, including surface texture, colour matching, anatomic form surface, marginal integrity and discolouration.
As a result, all of the study teeth were found to be vital and sound, with none exhibiting sensitivity or postoperative symptoms.
Amanda Holland, Heraeus' product manager, said: "These impressive clinical results indicate that Venus Diamond clearly delivers as promised in a real-world environment."
This comes after the Venus Diamond and Venus Diamond Flow composites performed strongly in a handling survey conducted among dentists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland last month.
