Dechra publishes Celox Veterinary leaflet

28 March 2012 00:00 in Animal Health Supplier News

Dechra Veterinary Products has announced the launch of a new information leaflet to its clients to help in the treatment of severe bleeding in horses.

The leaflet details how the company's Celox Veterinary product can be administered to help stop bleeding within three minutes.

Emma Jennings, Dechra's equine brand manager, said: "Vets know all too well the importance of stopping bleeding fast in horses, with wounds often needing immediate veterinary attention."

She added that both the leaflet and product can be stored easily by practices and horse owners, ensuring they are able to give immediate first aid should their animal suffer a severe injury.

Celox works by forming a gel-like clot after 30 seconds of being administered when mixed with blood, helping to significantly reduce blood loss.

Earlier this month, the company announced it is to be the main sponsor for the upcoming British Veterinary Nursing Association's continuing professional development event in Lisburn, Northern Ireland .ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801328419-ADNFCR
