Animalcare receives approval for Project Quattro
Animalcare has been granted UK marketing authorisation for Project Quattro, its newest veterinary medicinal product.
The new drug has been ratified by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD), a prerequisite step for any new animal health treatment intended for the UK market, with a planned launch scheduled before the end of June 2012.
For commercial reasons, Animalcare is yet to divulge full details of Project Quattro, the introduction of which will contribute to the company's efforts to expand its core product portfolio.
Receipt of this VMD backing, in addition to routine approvals for product packaging, will allow Animalcare to proceed with final preparations for the full launch.
Stephen Wildridge, chief executive officer of Animalcare, said: "The continued growth of our licensed veterinary medicines portfolio is an important aspect of our growth strategy."
Earlier this month, the company promoted its director of marketing Dr Iain Menneer to the key role of managing director.
