Baxter outlines success of charity programmes in 2011

22nd March 2012

Baxter has highlighted the success of charity schemes coordinated by its philanthropic Baxter International Foundation arm in 2011.

More than $80 million (50.65 million pounds) was contributed to charitable causes by Baxter and its foundation last year, focusing on increasing access to healthcare, helping developing nations in crisis and addressing various critical community needs.

Examples of philanthropic schemes include the $47 million worth of Baxter product donations to 75 different countries, including earthquake-stricken Japan, as well as the $29 million from Baxter businesses and facilities to address critical local needs in nations such as Thailand.

Over the last year, Baxter has been recognised for its employee inclusion and diversity programmes, as well as its sustainability performance and educational schemes for youth in need.

It has also been recognised as one of the top 100 most sustainable global businesses by Corporate Knights for eight years running.

This comes after Baxter also achieved strong financial results in 2011, with global sales growing by eight percent year-on-year to $13.89 billion.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801323816-ADNFCR
