Fresenius Kabi names new chief executive

14th March 2012

Fresenius Kabi has announced the appointment of Mats Henriksson as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective from January 1st 2013.

Mr Henriksson, who has been with the company since 1999 and has enjoyed success as president of its Asia-Pacific operations, will succeed Rainer Baule, who will be retiring from the management board at the end of 2012.

Mr Baule was thanked for his successful leadership of the business since 2001, since which time Fresenius Kabi has more than trebled its sales and become a leader in generic intravenous drugs, infusion therapies and clinical nutrition.

This appointment will coincide with Rice Powell succeeding Dr Ben Lipps as CEO of sister company Fresenius Medical Care, with the selection of internally-chosen candidates set to smooth the transition process.

Ulf Mark Schneider, CEO of the Fresenius group, said the two new CEOs "have outstanding track records in delivering excellent results for Fresenius Medical Care and Fresenius Kabi over many years".

"Both bring extensive leadership and industry experience to their new positions," he added.

This comes after the Fresenius group experienced record sales and earnings in 2011, with strong growth seen across all divisions.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801317883-ADNFCR
