TTP Labtech launches chipCAL microlitre flow calorimetry system
13 March 2012 00:00 in Scientific Company News
TTP Labtech has announced the introduction of a new microlitre flow calorimetry system that offers faster throughput than ever before.
The chipCAL system enables characterisation of enzyme activity to be achieved within two to ten minutes per sample, while offering benefits in terms of cost-effectiveness and volume requirements.
It has been designed to offer high-throughput enzyme screening capabilities for the biopharmaceutical, food and fermentation industries, with other benefits including its ease of use, wide working temperature range and versatility.
Dr Marcel van Tilborg, corporate scientist at the DSM Biotechnology Centre, has been involved in pilot schemes for the device and said: "Finally it is possible to achieve fast, label-free and absolute activity measurements - a breakthrough for everyone using enzymes who need speed, accuracy and low cost in biological assays."
The chipCAL system is one of a number of products being showcased by TTP Labtech at the 2012 Pittcon laboratory science equipment conference, with its aequus and lab2lab offerings also being demonstrated.
