Bayer proposes new chairman of supervisory board
Bayer has announced that Werner Wenning has been proposed for election as the new chairman of its supervisory board.
Mr Wenning, the former chairman of the company's board of management, has been named as the planned successor to Dr Manfred Schneider in this post, with the vote to take place at the firm's annual stockholders' meeting on April 27th 2012.
He would take up the position on October 1st after the conclusion of the statutory two-year cooling-off period that followed the end of his tenure as chairman of the management board on September 30th 2010.
Dr Schneider will remain at the head of the supervisory board until that time, after which point Mr Wenning will take over as chairman for the remainder of the current term until 2017.
Also taking place at the upcoming meeting will be elections for stockholder representatives on the supervisory board, as the terms of office of all ten incumbents will expire in April.
This comes after the company announced earlier this month the selection of Ute Bockstegers as the new chief financial officer of its UK and Ireland division.
