Philips voice recognition tech to be used in Nuance’s Dragon Medical system

23rd February 2012

Philips has made its SpeechExec dictation workflow solution compatible with the Dragon Medical voice recognition system from Nuance Healthcare.

Thanks to this new alliance, medical secretaries can take advantage of digital dictation and voice recognition software combined into one integrated system, offering a variety of advanced workflow features.

Users can easily review and edit auto-transcribed dictations, while constantly adding new words to the recognition vocabulary, allowing them to gradually create their own customised and accurate voice recognition system.

This represents an expansion of the long and successful collaboration between Philips and Nuance in this area.

Thomas Brauner, managing director for Philips Speech Processing, said: "Philips and Nuance Healthcare answered the demand of many medical practices and clinics wanting to use the digital dictation workflow solution SpeechExec together with their Dragon Medical voice recognition system."

Last week, Philips introduced HeartNavigator, a procedure planning and image guidance tool for use in heart valve replacement surgery.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801301059-ADNFCR
