Waters experiences double-digit growth in 2011
Waters has published its financial results for the 2011 full-year period, reporting a year-over-year growth rate of 13 percent.
Sales for the year came to $1.85 billion (1.17 billion pounds), with foreign currency translations adding about three percent to sales growth, while the company's total for the fourth quarter alone stood at $521 million.
Douglas Berthiaume, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Waters, said the year had been "very successful" for the company, with this double-digit revenue growth accompanied by improved earnings growth and strong cash generation.
He added: "Our positive business momentum continued nicely in the fourth quarter with relatively balanced strength highlighting the results."
Last month, Water announced a new collaboration agreement with fellow life science company Tecan, focusing on the development of a new clinical assay platform.
It will combine Waters' Acquity TQD liquid chromatograph/mass spectrometer system with the Freedom Evo liquid handling platform from Tecan.
