Radiometer AQT90 Flex analyser brings benefits to Blackpool hospital

Radiometer has highlighted the positive performance of its compact AQT90 Flex analyser since being adopted by Blackpool Victoria Hospital for point-of-care testing.
The device is being employed by the medical facility for testing a panel of cardiac markers as part of its cardiac assessment strategy, including troponin I, CKMB and myoglobin.
Radiometer's product offers a number of advantages in the assessment of patients with low-risk chest pain, due to the fact it can offer cost-effective immunoassay analysis of biomarkers at the patient's bedside, reducing the need for unnecessary admissions.
Sister Sharon Ellis said this is vital given how busy the hospital's accident and emergency department is, as well as in terms of providing reassurance for patients.
"Introduction of the AQT90 Flex analyser ... [allows] the first test to be performed 60 minutes after the onset of pain and a follow-up test 90 minutes later for confirmation," she explained.
This comes on top of positive testimony for AQT90 Flex from the Royal London Hospital last year.
