William Ransom completes sale of Ransom Natural
12 January 2012 00:00 in Pharmacy Supplier News
William Ransom has streamlined its business via the completion of the sale of its Ransom Natural business unit.
A wholly owned subsidiary of OBG Pharmaceuticals has purchased Ransom Natural for a cash consideration of 3.6 million pounds, which will be used by William Ransom to repay group borrowings.
This follows a period of reorganisation for the company, having split its operations into consumer healthcare, Ransom Natural and William Ransom and Son Limited (WRSL) last year.
WRSL was subsequently sold to OBG Pharmaceuticals, with the company's chairman Sir Roger Jones believing these streamlining efforts are in the best interest of the overall business.
He added: "The board is reviewing the trading outlook for the year taking into account the current retail market position which may result in further simplification of the company's structure."
This comes after the firm announced the acquisition of natural healthcare products supplier Trust William in September 2011.
