Steris reports ten percent quarterly revenue growth
Steris has reported ten percent growth in its operating revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2012.
The Ohio-based medical products company posted revenue of $342.7 million (217 million pounds) for the period, compared with $312.4 million for the corresponding quarter of fiscal 2011.
In its latest trading update, the firm also revealed a 17 percent drop in net income from to $29.6 million.
However, president and chief executive of Steris Walt Rosebrough declared himself "pleased with our top-line growth for the quarter".
He pointed out that the results "also include certain investments we are making for the long-term benefit of the company, totalling $8 million in the quarter, which resulted in lower earnings".
Steris has said its financial outlook for the full-year remains unchanged. It expects fiscal 2012 earnings of between $2.25 and $2.45 per share.
Last month, the firm launched the latest in its line of V-Pro line of healthcare sterilisation systems.
