Medtronic to showcase new devices at TCT 2011 conference

7th November 2011

Medtronic is showcasing a number of its latest innovations in the field of cardiovascular disease treatment at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) 2011 conference this week.

The medical technology firm will be providing updates on the clinical development of various stents, balloon catheters and other innovations, many of which are still in the investigational stage of development.

Among them will be the Resolute and Endeavor zotarolimus-eluting coronary stents, Assurant cobalt iliac balloon-expandable stent, IN.PACT drug-eluting balloons and CoreValve System transcatheter aortic valve.

The conference will also provide Medtronic with an opportunity to share data from new studies assessing the safety and efficacy of these devices.

Michael Coyle, executive vice-president of Medtronic and president of its cardiac and vascular group, said: "TCT enables us to showcase our unmatched portfolio of cardiovascular devices and the clinical data that support their use to physicians from around the world who specialise in interventional cardiovascular medicine."

This comes in the same week that Medtronic's CoreValve System received European approval to be delivered using direct aortic access.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800788251-ADNFCR
