Actavis received a prize for innovation at last week's Pharmacy Business Awards in London.
The company was honoured to win the Innovators in Generics award at the prestigious ceremony, which took place at the Park Plaza Hotel on Thursday October 20th.
According to the firm, the accolade celebrates successful projects such as the Actavis Academy, the Actavis Accumulator scheme and the new product launches the firm has carried out this year.
Director of generics at Actavis Michael Cann collected the award from special guest Lord Howe, parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Department of Health.
During his speech at the event, Lord Howe said the government "sees pharmacy as integral to every aspect of our plans to modernise the NHS".
He added: "I want to see pharmacists at the heart of the new commissioning arrangements, helping shape local health and care services."
Other winners at the Pharmacy Business Awards included Dr Keith Ridge, chief pharmaceutical officer at the Department of Health, who received the editor's award.
