Molnlycke launches Barrier Hybrid cardiovascular drape

26th October 2011

Molnlycke Health Care has unveiled its new Barrier Hybrid cardiovascular drape, which the company claims is the first of its kind to be specifically designed with multi-disciplinary cardiovascular procedures in mind.

The firm's new drape is suitable for use in both minimally invasive and open cardiovascular surgery, as well as in catheter-based coronary interventions.

As a result, the Barrier Hybrid cardiovascular drape is extra large, so it can cover almost any size of operating table and accommodate multiple surgeons.

The firm said: "It allows for one person to drape and presents an innovative alternative to multi-draping techniques, which is a very time-consuming and cumbersome task."

In April this year, Molnlycke introduced the Barrier surgical gown Ultimate.

At the time, category director for the firm's surgical division Lisa Reck said the combination of soft SMS material with a comfortable design ensured that 92 per cent of test users preferred the Ultimate to their existing surgical gown. ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800777332-ADNFCR
