Nycomed appoints new head of emerging markets

20th October 2011

Nycomed has appointed Jostein Davidsen as its new head of emerging markets in the wake of its recent takeover by Takeda.

Mr Davidsen will take on his new responsibilities immediately in addition to his current position of area head for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a role in which he has been credited with great success.

The appointment underlines the importance of emerging market growth to Takeda, which regarded Nycomed's strong presence in these regions as a key driver behind its decision to acquire the business.

In his new role, Mr Davidsen will report directly to Frank Morich, the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Nycomed.

Mr Morich was appointed to the role upon the completion of the takeover earlier this month, in addition to his responsibilities as executive vice-president for international operations at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International.

"Jostein's strong track record of leading Russia/CIS over the past 17 years makes him an ideal candidate for this position," said the CEO.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800764420-ADNFCR
