Astra Tech to launch Atlantis crown abutment in UK

Astra Tech has announced that the Atlantis crown abutment for single-tooth screw-retained restorations will be launched in the UK next month.

The new dental product will be available on November 28th 2011 and is to be released in five shades of biocompatible zirconia, including translucent white zirconia, available exclusively for this product.

It has been optimised to provide more natural aesthetic final result for individual implant patients, with each abutment designed from the final tooth shape on a patient-specific basis.

According to the manufacturer, this launch will provide laboratories with streamlined internal procedures by reducing the time spent on modification and casting.

"Astra Tech Dental is committed to providing customers with solutions and services that bring them increased simplicity and efficiency in achieving optimised, patient-specific solutions," it added.

This comes after Astra Tech was acquired by Dentsply from former owner AstraZeneca at the beginning of last month.
