Teva launches Salmeterol pMDI for breathing disorders

12th October 2011

Teva has announced the UK launch of a generic version of Salmeterol pMDI, an inhalation-based therapy for breathing disorders.

The company is the first to bring this new treatment to the UK market, with the product being made available immediately via pharmacies in a green inhaler.

Salmeterol pMDI is designed for breathing problems caused by asthma suffered at night by adults and adolescents aged over 12 years, as well as attacks brought on by exercise.

It is also specified for breathing problems caused by other chest diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or chronic bronchitis in adults.

Kim Innes, commercial director at Teva UK, said: "We are delighted to be bringing the first generic version of this product to the UK market and at the same time further broaden our portfolio."

This comes after the company announced the UK launch of a range of generic Olanzapine products for the treatment of schizophrenia and other conditions earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800756535-ADNFCR
