Elsevier launches SciVerse Scopus Alerts Individual app
12 October 2011 00:00 in Marketing Services
Elsevier has announced the introduction of a new mobile application that provides non-institutional SciVerse Scopus subscribers with access to content.
The SciVerse Scopus Alerts Individual app is available now for iOS and Android devices and provides users with immediate access to the world's largest abstract and citation database.
It is the first time the publisher has provided any kind of individual subscription to SciVerse Scopus, with features including search and citation alerts functions, automated updates on relevant publications and the ability to share links.
This will expand the availability of the database to those who do not already receive subscriptions through their institutions, making it easier for them to work on the move.
Yukun Harsono, senior vice-president for search and discovery at Elsevier, said: "For those who wish to stay connected in today's competitive research landscape, leaving their work at the lab is no longer an option."
This comes after SciVerse Scopus was chosen last month as the sole bibliometric provider for a new research framework project planned by the UK's four higher education funding bodies.
