Kimal has reported its progress in readying the UK launch of the IVantage infusion pump, the rights to which were acquired by the firm earlier this year.
The company was granted CE Mark accreditation to manufacture and supply the volumetric ambulatory infusion pump in June 2011 and is now preparing its UK sales team for the coming launch.
As part of this preparation process, the firm attended last month's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency Congress, where its first outing as the new owner of the IVantage system was well-received by attendees.
The device is designed to support ambulatory needs of patients and can be used for patient-controlled analgesia, intermittent infusion, continuous infusion therapy and parental nutrition.
Kimal has also been working with former distributors of the device to ensure that sales of the device in European nations such as France, Switzerland and Norway are not interrupted.
Last month, the company announced the launch of the KFlow Epic Solo Catheter, a new device that facilitates vascular access with better patient comfort and durability.
