Elsevier launches iPad version of European Journal of Cancer

28th September 2011

Elsevier has announced the launch of a new mobile version of the European Journal of Cancer (EJC) for Apple's iPad tablet.

The new EJC App has been made available for free via the App Store and will feature content from all 18 annual editions of the prestigious medical publication, commencing with the September 2011 issue.

According to the publisher, the iPad version will feature the same articles as the print version plus content from EJC News and EJC News Focus, while users will be able to customise the experience by saving pages and making notes.

The app is designed to allow users to access EJC content at any time and download it wirelessly to their iPads, meaning it can then be consulted when no internet connection is present.

Alexander Eggermont, editor-in-chief of the medical journal, said: "It is important for our readers to have access to the journal whenever they need it. The iPad editions deliver the EJC to them in an easy-to-use format, straight to their device."

Earlier this month, the company announced that its SciVerse Scopus database is to be used by UK higher education funding bodies as the sole bibliometric provider for the 2014 Research Excellence Framework project.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800742830-ADNFCR
