Siemens launches bleeding disorder diagnostic tool
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has announced the launch of an innovative new tool for use in the diagnosis and management of bleeding disorders.
The Innovance VWF Ac Assay measures the quantitative determination of von Willebrand factor activity – a key protein in the blood clotting process – using polystyrene particles rather than platelets.
This innovation offers improved stability and more reliable results, as well as high reproducibility, lot-to-lot consistency and long reagent stability.
Siemens is releasing its new assay for the Siemens BCS and BCS XP systems and the Sysmex CS-2100i, 2000i, CA-7000, CA-1500 and CA-560 devices, meaning clinical laboratories of all sizes can benefit.
Michael Noeh, vice-president for global haematology marketing for haemostasis at Siemens, said: "Siemens is focused on equipping laboratories with advanced haemostasis solutions that can help improve both clinical and operational performance."
This comes after the company bolstered its portfolio by introducing the new Syngo Lab Data Manager system earlier this month.
