Bayer recognised for strong sustainability performance

12th September 2011

Bayer has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability in new industry rankings compiled by Dow Jones.

The organisation has once again been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index, following a year that has seen it achieve its best results ever.

Among the categories in which Bayer was favourably assessed were responsible corporate governance, environmental management, human resources, customer relations and innovation management.

Bayer has been included in the global Dow Jones rankings each year since 1999, which is illustrative of the company's best-in-class performance during that time.

Professor Wolfgang Plischke, Bayer's board member responsible for innovation, technology and the environment, said: "That Bayer continues to be listed in the two important sustainability indices represents confirmation and recognition of our endeavours in the field of sustainability."

Last month, the Bayer HealthCare division of the company announced that it will be providing a supply of diabetes drugs for use by the World Health Organization in humanitarian efforts in China.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800725655-ADNFCR
