KCI’s VAC Via lauded by Podiatry Today
KCI's VAC Via negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) system has been named as one of the best innovations of its kind by industry publication Podiatry Today.
The magazine has named the device in second place in its ranking of the top ten innovations in podiatric technology, based on its miniaturised and virtually silent pump technology, which enhances its patient-friendliness.
Recognition was also given to the system's seven-day performance on a single battery charge, which contrasts with the hefty nickel-cadmium battery systems found in alternative NPWT devices.
Other benefits of the VAC Via system highlighted by the publication include its small size, light weight and portability.
Mike Genau, global president for KCI's active healing solutions unit, said: "Miniaturising VAC Therapy in the form of the VAC Via System ensures trusted, cost-effective outcomes with added mobility."
This comes after VAC Via was accepted for listing on the UK drug tariff earlier this year.
