BDA calls for new members of professional committees

7th September 2011

The British Dental Association (BDA) is offering UK dentists the opportunity to join one of 13 committees representing professionals across Britain.

Nominations and applications for membership of the industry bodies are being accepted until October 14th 2011, with those chosen for election to serve three-year terms beginning in early 2012.

Potential members are being sought for the General Dental Practice Committee, Salaried Dentists Committee, Central Committee for Dental Academic Staff, Armed Forces Committee and Central Committee for Hospital Dental Services, as well as various regional bodies.

Peter Ward, chief executive of the BDA, said this process is being conducted to ensure the organisation adequately represents dental professionals from across the country.

"It is only possible to do that if members of the profession actively engage in the democratic process," he said.

Earlier this month, the association welcomed news of the launch of dental pilots that will pave the way for a new outcomes-focused contract model for UK oral care.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800722465-ADNFCR
