Quintiles appoints new phase I head

5th September 2011

Quintiles has announced that Dr Oren Cohen has been appointed as the new senior vice-president and global head of its phase I clinical research division.

Dr Cohen has been associated with the biopharmaceutical services provider since 2001 and received his MD from Duke University School of Medicine, where he is currently consulting professor of medicine.

His expertise will allow the company to enhance its integrated early clinical development platform, which helps clients to reduce study costs and simplifies trial management, while maintaining quality standards.

Quintiles' phase I division includes high-end facilities in London, Kansas and Hyderabad.

Paula Brown Stafford, president of Quintiles Clinical Development, said: "Oren brings a deep understanding of the patient and a wealth of clinical and scientific expertise from his tenure as Quintiles' chief medical and scientific officer (CMSO)."

This comes after the company appointed Dr Jeffrey Spaeder, formerly of Takeda and Abbott, to the role of CMSO last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800719194-ADNFCR
