Ipsen appoints new executive committee members

Ipsen has added two new members to its executive committee with the appointment of Nathalie Joannes and Susheel Surpal.

Ms Joannes, the former senior vice-president and chief European counsel at Genzyme, will be appointed as executive vice-president and general counsel for Ipsen as of October 1st 2011.

Meanwhile, Mr Surpal will be named executive vice-president and chief financial officer in the coming weeks and will be joining the company from his previous role on the executive committee of Labco.

Following these two nominations, all of the positions on Ipsen's executive committee will have been filled.

This comes in the same week that Ipsen announced its financial results for the first half of 2011, during which it saw a 5.8 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated sales.

Growth has been attributed to the strength of its specialty care portfolio, with the company now having increased its financial targets for the full-year period as a result.
