Corin ‘well-positioned’ after first half of 2011

24th August 2011

Corin is on course to deliver on its business strategy following a positive performance during the first half of 2011.

Data from the company's interim report for the period shows that group sales during the six months rose by one percent year on year, coming to a total of 22.1 million pounds.

Hip product sales grew by 14 percent, while its non metal-on-metal hip portfolio – which is a new area of focus for the firm – saw a leap of 50 percent, which Corin chief executive Peter Huntley said shows Corin's strategy is proceeding well.

The next stage of the business plan involved the launch of its new total knee system, which is also progressing according to plan, with evaluation surgeries set to take place in the fourth quarter of this year.

Mr Huntley added: "We are now well positioned to be able to support and grow our products and are pleased with the momentum that we are building in the US market."

Last month, Corin noted the success of its recent Corin Academy Global Training Course, which was held in Cirencester and involved students from numerous overseas locations, as well as the UK.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800709810-ADNFCR
