Radiometer's AQT90 FLEX analyser, used for carrying out point of care D-dimer testing, has been praised by medical professionals at Frimley Park hospital in Surrey.
The device, which is used by doctors in the hospital's accident and emergency unit to screen for venous thromboembolism, was described by manager of the point of care testing team in Frimley Park's pathology department Lynda Petley as the most suitable system for the medical centre's needs.
"Following an extensive laboratory evaluation, the AQT90 FLEX analyser was identified as 'best of breed' for our requirements," she remarked.
Ms Petley noted the device, which can be password-protected to ensure it is only used by staff with necessary training, met hospital standards from an analytical and ergonomic standpoint.
Hospitals and medical care facilities may also be adopting a new blood gas handbook from Radiometer, which runs on iPhones and iPads and provides information on the blood gas status of patients.
