Ansell reports strong growth in 2011 fiscal year
Ansell has published its results for the recently concluded 2011 fiscal year, during which the company experienced strong growth.
The medical technology manufacturer's sales total for the 12 months ending June 30th 2011 came to $1.2 billion (732.8 million pounds), up by 11 percent year on year, while profits rose by 15 percent in the same time frame.
Ansell chairman Peter Barnes noted that this has been achieved despite a challenging business climate, with the company now predicting further growth in earnings per share terms for the coming 12 months.
He added: "The board is pleased to announce an increased dividend and a new on-market share buyback."
This comes after the company announced last month that it will be expanding its business with the acquisition of Sandel Medical Industries, a developer of staff and patient safety disposable products.
The transaction has been valued at $13.5 million and will see the new subsidiary operate under the name Ansell Sandel Medical Solutions.
