Waters gains CE mark for MassTrak Immunosuppressants XE Kit

Waters has revealed that its MassTrak Immunosuppressants XE Kit has picked up a CE mark for the quantitative measurement of tacrolimus and everolimus.

According to the company, its Waters LC/MS/MS system gives users enhanced sensitivity and specificity, and is capable of measuring compounds at low ng/mL levels.

By adopting the instrumentation and kit, organisations in the European Economic Area and Switzerland will be able to slash their expenditure on developing and validating in-house LC/MS/MS methods for tacrolimus or everolimus, it stated.

Mark Bruns, senior director of clinical business operations at Waters Division, said LC/MS systems have an increasingly important role to play in modern labs.

"Waters is committed to advancing technology-based diagnostic solutions in the clinical laboratory that impact the quality of results in many areas," he added.

The news comes shortly after Waters launched an iPad application designed to make it easier for customers to choose the most appropriate vials, filters and plates.
