Colgate-Palmolive has published its financial report for the second quarter of 2011, during which the company was able to record another increase in net sales.
The dental supplier's sales total for the period grew by 9.5 percent year on year to $4.2 billion (2.7 billion pounds), while global unit volume rose by three percent.
In the last three months, Colgate-Palmolive saw its global market share of the toothbrush and toothpaste sectors grow to record levels, while experiencing notable gains in the UK.
The company was also able to complete the acquisition of Unilever's Sanex personal care brand, a move that will further strengthen its standing in its core areas of oral care, personal care and pet nutrition.
Ian Cook, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the firm, said: "We are pleased with our solid top and bottom-line growth this quarter with worldwide net sales, operating profit, net income and diluted earnings per share all increasing versus a year ago."
The coming quarter will see the organisation conduct its annual Colgate Oral Health Month in the UK, in association with industry bodies such as the British Dental Association.
