Teva launches new generic products in UK
Teva UK has announced the introduction of five new generic medicines to its range of pharmacy products.
This month, the company has added off-label versions of Pharmacia's exemestane breast cancer treatment Aromasin, Daiichi Sankyo's diabetes therapy Prandin (repaglinide) and the Parkinson's disease drug Requip XL from GlaxoSmithKline.
Completing the new selection of products are generic versions of two Sanofi drugs – the infection treatment Tavanic (levofloxacin) and Solian (amisulpride), a therapy for acute and chronic schizophrenic disorders.
Each of these new generic therapies will be available in a range of strengths and pack sizes.
Kim Innes, commercial director at Teva UK, said the company is pleased to "further broaden our portfolio, which is the widest of any UK generics supplier".
Earlier this month, the firm completed its acquisition of Japanese off-label drug specialist Taiyo in a move that will expand its global presence.
