Cook Medical launches updated Resonance Metallic Ureteral Stent
Cook Medical has announced the introduction of an updated version of its Resonance Metallic Ureteral Stent system to improve its ease of use.
The new version of the medical device, which was first launched in 2007, features an updated introducer system that enhances visualisation through the use of a clear sheath.
It also features ink markings on the delivery system, acting as a reference aid for the first and second pigtail deployment in order to improve the accuracy of placements.
This will help to augment the clinically proven benefits of the stent, which has been shown to be a cost-effective method of treating benign upper ureteral obstruction.
Jean-Marc Creissel, global leader of Cook's urology business unit, said: "Cook continues to innovate and raise the bar across a wide range of urological procedures and products."
Last month, the company published data from a European study to showcase the benefits of its EchoTip ProCore biopsy needle in diagnosing gastrointestinal disorders.
