Johnson and Johnson announces 2014 World Cup sponsorship

11th July 2011

Johnson and Johnson has become the official and exclusive healthcare sponsor of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

The group has been confirmed as the eighth and final global sponsor of the international sporting event, giving the organisation marketing rights to both this event and the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup.

This will provide the firm with the ability to market its consumer, pharmaceutical and medical device offerings, with the company aiming to use the opportunity to provide vision, oral, sun, skin and woundcare offerings to football fans.

Brian Perkins, corporate vice-president for corporate affairs at Johnson and Johnson, said the event will provide an opportunity to reach out to professionals and consumers alike.

"The Fifa World Cup unites people of all cultures, ages and socioeconomic levels like no other event and we're excited to tap into this passion and reach to further impact health and wellness," he added.

Last month, the firm announced that healthcare sector veteran Ronald Williams has been selected as the newest member of its board of directors.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800618165-ADNFCR
