BD and Sanyo announce joint promotion agreement

BD Biosciences has entered into a new partnership with the biomedical solutions division of Sanyo on a new joint promotion arrangement.

The strategic agreement will see the companies collaborating to market cutting-edge life science research tools designed for use in cell culture and cell therapy studies, as well as investigating possible new product combinations.

Specifically, the alliance will involve Sanyo integrating with BD's SySTEMatic ExCELLenceSM marketing campaign, while seeking to blend Sanyo CO2 incubators with specialised BD Biosciences Discovery Labware products.

It is thought that this collaboration will leverage the expertise and capabilities of both firms in both the short and long term.

Bill Rhodes, president of BD Biosciences, said: "This collaboration reflects BD Biosciences' commitment to delivering best-in-class, highly integrated products and services to help life scientists reduce risk and ensure superior quality."

Last week, the company announced the appointment of Dr Patrick Murray as worldwide director of scientific affairs for its diagnostic systems unit.
