Elsevier extends SciVal Funding tool to UK and EU

28th June 2011

Elsevier has announced that its SciVal Funding tool is being made available to researchers in the UK and Europe.

The application, which allows scientists to search through a comprehensive and regularly updated database of grant and financial support opportunities, is being expanded to areas outside the US for the first time.

According to the company, this will allow clients to react better to the increasingly collaborative and internationally-focused nature of the modern research community.

Niels Weertman, vice-president for SciVal at Elsevier, said: "The expanded coverage … highlights Elsevier's ongoing commitment to empower institutions worldwide to implement performance, planning and funding strategies that are global in scope and collaborative in nature."

The tool will be introduced in further territories, including Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, later this year.

Last week, Elsevier announced that data from its SciVerse ScienceDirect journal articles and ebooks is to be made searchable through the Ex Libris Primo Central Index.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800602178-ADNFCR
