Cook Medical has announced that three British vascular surgeons and radiologists are due to receive a special award as part of a medical training scheme the company has sponsored.
The programme was developed and administered by the British Society of Endovascular Therapy (BSET), which will hand out fellowship awards to the trio of successful applicants at its annual meeting in Warwickshire this summer.
As part of the scheme, the fellows in waiting will work alongside experienced vascular surgeons at centres of excellence to enhance their knowledge of complex techniques such as endovascular aortic repair.
"Our commitment to enhancing the work of physicians and to improving their patients' welfare fuels our passion for developing minimally invasive devices that reflect the technological advancements in this field," said Phil Nowell, vice-president of the aortic intervention division at Cook Medical.
The physicians taking part in the programme this year are Ian Nordon of St George's in London, Michael Delbridge of Manchester Royal Infirmary and Robert Davies of Leicester Royal Infirmary.
