Norgine announces first European launch of Moviprep

Norgine and partner PharmaSwiss have introduced the bowel cleansing preparation Moviprep in Slovenia.
The two companies said the product launch will be the first of several to take place in central and eastern Europe over the next few months, with Moviprep set to be marketed across the region by Norgine.
Launched in 2006, the product is the firm's second largest brand and now leads the bowel cleansing sector in Europe.
"We are delighted that our partners PharmaSwiss have launched Moviprep in Slovenia," commented Peter Stein, Norgine's chief executive.
He added that the firm's large distribution network and dedication to improving the detection of bowel disease will bring "significant benefits to both patients and healthcare professionals in the region".
Norgine is also responsible for Movicol, the world's leading prescription laxative for the treatment of chronic constipation.
The firm's other products include diarrhoea treatment Xifaxan and Fivasa, which is designed for patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's Disease.
