BCF Technology highlights progress of EID collaboration
BCF Technology has provided an update on the success of its collaborative project to introduce electronic ID (EID) tagging in the analysis of pregnancy data among breeding ewes.
Since last autumn, the company has been working with farm management technology firm Nedap Agri to implement systems that allow scan operators to read EID tags, log the number of lambs and monitor stages of pregnancy.
This system has been used by five key customers during the 2010-11 sheep breeding season and has proven a success, with the clients having shared feedback with BCF's designers and suppliers this week.
BCF and Nedap will now utilise these opinions to create further technology innovations in this area ahead of the 2011-12 breeding season.
"This feedback is critical in BCF's process of delivering products, which truly deliver value," the company said.
Earlier this month, the company provided sponsorship for a small animal ultrasound wet lab event organised by the Ark Veterinary Clinic and Kerry Veterinary Clinical Society, as well as supplying equipment.
