Edelman hires new global vice-chair for health

Edelman has announced the appointment of Kym White as its new vice-chair for health, commencing on May 31st 2011.
Ms White is a veteran healthcare communications strategist who most recently served as vice-president for global corporate communications at pharmaceutical company Baxter.
In her new role, she will report to Edelman's president and chief executive officer Matthew Harrington and global president for health Nancy Turett, with her work initially focusing on counsel and relationship development with US-based global clients.
This will see her working with major healthcare corporations such as AstraZeneca, GE Healthcare, Novartis, Pfizer and Merck Sharpe and Dohme.
Mr Harrington said: "We have many assignments across industries that require senior global health counsel and having Kym join now is an extraordinary opportunity that will benefit our clients."
Earlier this year, Edelman was named by the Sunday Times as one of the top 100 best medium-sized companies to work for, rating as the highest-ranking PR firm in the list.
