Sirona hails success of relief fund for Japanese employees
Sirona has hailed the success of its efforts to raise funds for Japan-based employees who were affected by the earthquake and flooding that struck the nation last month.
A relief fund was established by the company in the immediate aftermath of the March 11th 2011 disaster, which left three of its Japanese staff members homeless.
As such, fundraising events have been conducted that resulted in contributions of 8,163 euros (7,250 pounds) being made, a total that Sirona has since increased to 20,000 euros with its own offering.
Yuji Kuriki, Sirona's general manager in Japan stated that the initiative is indicative of the team spirit and unity present within the group's global workforce.
Walter Petersohn, executive vice-president of sales at Sirona, added: "Helping colleagues in emergencies is a key part of our corporate culture. I am pleased that we have been able to make an immediate and direct contribution to alleviating the hardship in Japan."
Last month, the company released its new Sinus treatment centre, which is designed to improve efficiency and care quality in dental surgeries.
