Leo Pharma names new external board members
30 March 2011 00:00 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures
Leo Pharma has announced that Jukka Pertola and Dr Peder Holk Nielsen have been appointed to its board of directors.
At the pharmaceutical company's annual general meeting, stakeholders voted to elect Mr Pertola, Siemens Denmark's president and chief executive officer (CEO), and Novozymes executive vice-president Dr Nielsen as external board members.
It is hoped that their extensive experience in business will complement the current board's expertise and support the company's growth plans.
Their appointment coincides with the resignation of four previous members of the board, including Leo Pharma's president and CEO Gitte Aabo.
Poul Rodbroe Rasmussen, chairman of the board and of the Leo Foundation, said: "The board of Leo Pharma has gained two highly experienced members with solid expertise in international business development and I look very much forward to our cooperation."
This comes in the same week that the company reported a 20 percent year-on-year sales increase during the 2010 fiscal year.
